Q & A with Trainer Farrantina:

How did you first become interested in fitness?

I became interested in fitness after years of varsity wrestling in university. After I retired from the sport, I was struggling with some injuries and maintaining a healthy balanced diet. It took some time, but I overcame these obstacles through proper nutrition and resistance training. I discovered that exercise is medicine, and I wanted to help others achieve their own fitness and health goals.

What is your favourite part about teaching fitness classes or training clients?

My favourite part about being a trainer is helping my clients achieve their goals. Whether that be overcoming an injury or losing weight, I feel just as good as my clients when they reach their end goal. It never fails to amaze me to look back on how far they have come.

What is your favourite exercise?

My favourite exercise is the pull-up. I love training back!

What is your 'go to' healthy snack?

My go to healthy snack is chopped up bell peppers/carrots with hummus.

Who is your most common training client?

The most common type of client that I work with are those who are new to strength training and looking to become leaner. These are people of all ages who are looking to gain strength and are new to training with weights. It is never too late to learn about all of the benefits that come from strength training.

If you had to pick one song to motivate you during a workout, what would it be?

"Can't Tell Me Nothing" by Kanye West.
