MSc(PT), BHSc — Physiotherapist
Jaya Sam graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree before completing his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Jaya has experience in a variety of clinical settings including cardiac and stroke rehabilitation, the orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation unit, and private practice clinics.
Jaya has completed continuing education courses in Athletic Taping, Acupuncture, and Functional Movement Assessment. He has a passion for continued learning and can often be found listening to physio-related podcasts or gleaning information from additional resources and mentors.
Being a former athlete himself (soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, badminton, volleyball), Jaya experienced several injuries that required rehabilitation (including a ruptured ACL that was NOT surgically repaired due to proper rehabilitation). As a result, he believes in empowering patients to take control of their recovery and rehabilitation. He believes his combination of hands-on therapy and equipping patients with the proper tools and exercises is the best method for full recovery and recurrence prevention.
